Our Family

Greetings from the Mack family. We are a family of 12 living in the country. We are of the reformed faith, attending Westminster Presbyterian Church. My husband and I are seeking to glorify God with every effort as we raise our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Some things we enjoy doing are fellowshiping with friends, singing songs of praise, taking trips to the river in the summer time, playing in the snow in the winter, camping as a family, and sharing great adventures together while serving Christ and His kingdom forever.

About a week ago, a few families in our church co-op took a field trip to the Oregon Trail exhibit at the Portland Museum. It was a great experience. The kids got to spend time with each other, and learn great facts about the history of the Great North West. They didn't allow photos inside the museum, but I hope you enjoy these few pictures from our lunch break outside the museum.

Silly faces!

The group.

Standing by Teddy.

What an interesting atmosphere. Notice the tall portland building directly behind the Statue of Theodore Roosevelt.

People probably thought it kind of odd to see a group this large, all the girls in skirts, walking down the sidewalks of Portland in the middle of the week. They probably guessed we were homeschoolers. ;)

Playing tag outside the museum.

This building was amazing... It was painted brick, but from the street it appeared to be constructed like this.

Our family should get one of these drinking fountains, all the kids could get their drink at the same time without waiting in line. :) The water in Portland doesn't taste very good.

That's all for now folks!

We have changed the background, what are your thoughts about it? It's a little less scary. :)

Slowly but Surely

Well, this is our first post! Our little family blog is in the makings, but as of now, it is empty. Our family has been greatly busy with this Christmas season, and New Year. Today, as you all know, is the first day of the year. Our family usually has one main theme to improve upon throughout each year. We have been recently focusing on the mediation of Christ. As the new year has begun, the Father of our household has established a new theme of great significance, joy. Proverbs 15:13-17 is our passage for focusing on true joy.

" 13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance,
But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil,
But he who is of a merry heart
has a continual feast.
16 Better is a little with the fear of the LORD,
Than great treasure with trouble.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is,
Than a fatted calf with hatred. "

Have a wonderful new year as you grow in love, and follow Christ as His servant forever.
